Default Lease first buy later

Hi my first time on forum. I have been reading with interest and taking in all the valuable info. Having visited Cyprus on numerous occasions and travelled to various other countries looking for my dream home, I still have the pull to buy in Cyprus. My husband spent 6months with UN tour many years ago and fell in love with the country. Ideally we would like to move to Akrotiri area or near Polis and Latchi. He would move there tomorrow. I am worried about finding work for myself as my husband will be working away a lot of the time

I wonder what everyones views are on whether we should try and lease for a year before making a decision to buy.

Is there work? Are there properties for leasing? Should I just go ahead and buy?

Hello

I am new on here to. I have found a site that might be of interest to you, cyprusjobs com. They seem to have a lots of jobs advertised in all profeshions, my partner works in IT, and to her surprise we have found similar roles there, as she doe's in London.

As for renting a house before buying one seems like a good idea, we are looking to do the same ourselves.

Regards

Get over for a short holiday Flights and Holiday lets are good at this time .
Take your time dont do the 3days stuck to one company .hope you find what you want and go for it you only live once. All the best Tricia.

Hello JSA & Coyles,

Welcome to the forums. My advice is in general (if you plan to live in Cyprus) is to take a short rental for 3-6 months, in the general area you wish, so the western end, Paphos is best. Assess how your short stay goes, see if you enjoy staying there and if its the area you want to live in and then buy if you can afford to.

Its still a good time to purchase despite the rumblings of the apparent and vocal doom mongers. You will note that the doom mongers have bought and live on the Island (how ironic). I get the feeling sometimes they want to preserve what they have!

In general if you have a family and one partner may have to be away for a period, I would suggest Paphos and the environs as the general community there and expat community there are great. Youre a bit nearer civilisation for schools, hospitals and not left as exposed if theres an emergancy.

We (amongst others) have property available for rental and buying and if you want any specific help we would be happy to help.

Good luck, and keep asking people questions. Get advise and move when its right for you.

Default Buying and Renting Adice

Hello all,

Can anyone give me any idea of what it would cost to buy or rent a 2 bed house/apartment around Nicosia, must have a pool.

It has to be close as possible to Nicosia, as my partner works in IT, and thats where there seems to be IT jobs.

We have looked at many sites online giving many different prices for new houses, but are these real prices or just the middle mans mark up?

Cheers

Smile Beach Villa for sale

Hi,

I cant advise you whether or not to lease before buying as this is an emotional decision and dependent on the family circumstances.
