Nursing Jobs

Wife(nurse) and I are comming to Cyprus from Australia. Does anyone have any information concerning Nursing jobs in Cypurs. Specifically, 1. the ease of getting a nursing job 2. where the jobs would mainly be (I know in a hospital)

Nursing in Cyprus is a nightmare. They are 20 years behind the times the wage is around £450 per month 46 hours a week. You have to apply to Nicosia health department for clearance and the Doctors treat you like a numb skull when we are probably more experienced than them.
l worked for 5 shifts in one clinic and 8 in another, sadly l will never nurse again as l live here in Cyprus. HYGIENE STANDARDS ARE NON EXSISTANT AS IS MOVING AND HANDLING. Some other nurses l know here work in cosmetic surgery clinics which is slightly better, but even then some of the stories they tell me would make your skin crawl.
Some people here find the care good but having had 29 years experience in nursing, l couldnt work in such a backward ignorant and outdated system, my standard of working is by far to high for here.

Your wife may want to check the EU website on working in Europe here: EUROPA - EURES - the European Job Mobility Portal

There used to be some extensive information there about transfer of medical qualifications, though they have reworked the site recently, so I can't give you a quick reference. I do know that nursing and other medical qualifications can be difficult to transfer, especially if you're coming from outside the EU. But it may be possible to locate the government agency that licenses or certifies nurses, and they will surely be able to give you more information.
