Sure, if your looking to buy or rent when you eventually move, take this opportunity to look around. Have a look at New Home in Cyprus - independent property agent there is a good sample on there.

Hi Val & Geoff ~ looks like you are in a similiar situation to ourslves. Interesting that Geoff's a retired firefighter, me I'm a retired cop. Andrea (Andi) and I got married last year 7th of 7th of the 7th ~ so I don't forget!
We're in the process of buying a villa due for completion this July. My favourite phrase last year was 'Relocate in 2008', but looks like we may have to delay a while, and rent the villa out short term.
Without going into detail my pension took a hit, so I need to get a bit more into the bank first. Obviously like yourselves employment is of some concern. We've visited a number of forum sites, to research as much as we can. I even contacted the 'Soveriegn Base' near Limassol, but whilst I received a very nice letter in response they only employ ex MOD or Civil Servants stating they had to comply with the 'Cyprot qota' on employment! I like to be gamefuly employed and can turn my hand to most things, so I'm going to be asking around a bit. Andi's a qualified beauty therapist, so chances are she will probably get employment ahead of me. She's also 10 years younger which will probably help?
We're visiting Cyprus first week in May to check on developments so it would be good to check out that bar in Paphos ~ what was it the 'Universal Bar' above a 'ladies clobber' shop? We're then back in July; so if you want to swop experiences let us know.
Kind Regards, C&A

Hiya Chris & Andi, the ex pats bar is called Paradise Club opposite the George Hotel entrance (at the crossroads).. up the bank approx 200 mtrs on your left there is a turning and this road will take you to the bar on your right.
E mail if you want to and we will tell you when we arrive there, hopefully meet up?
We have hired a car for the duration of our stay,in July.
If youre there the same time, feel free to e mail us before and we can arrange something. Its nice to know there are others just like us... who are keen to start a new life but the unknown has its downside.
As said before, its our 4th time to Paphos and we realise a holiday is totally different to actually relocating there. We are using the next hol as a fact finding mission. The more i think about it the more i am coming to terms with it and we have to make a go of it, i think the most important thing is to get the location right.
However I need to work because of the sanity factor but also i Love my job here in the UK. Take care and speak soon
Val n Geoff

Hi Val & Geoff,
Yes know the location, spookily enough near to MRI's Cyprus Office! You could always have a 'nose' there to see whats on offer ~ as there's no obligation; is there?
Hopefully see you in July, or meet up here, in the UK if you want to exchange notes? Andrea's from Leeds, so we're up there quite a bit.
Take care ~ hope to see you soon.
Regards, Chris and Andi

Hi Tricia ~ We're off in about 8 weeks ~ from today in fact YIPPEE! We've had some positive replies form both 'Steptoes' and Venus Furniture supplies on furniture packages. The latter whom you recommended. They're certainly a darn sight cheaper than a company recommended by a certain Reality firm! Looks like we're in for a busy week choosing value for money furnishing not forgetting tiles, kitchen unit doors and work tops etc. for the villa. Might even find time to relax!
