Question Relocation companies?

Hi. I'm new to this forum and i'm hoping someone can offer me some advice.
My family and I are looking to move to cyprus in september 2008. me and my husband plan to come over in december and january to have a look around limassol and hopefully visit one or two schools.
my husband has had telephone conversations with a relocation company but before we book in with them we wonder if any one else has used them or a similar company. is it necessary or can we find out every thing we need to know ourselves?
we are not planning on looking at properties on our first two visits as at this stage we need to secure school places for our 3 children and then find an area we like. is this something we would be better of doing ourselves.
the company we are looking at is acklimatise in limassol.

has any one any views on these? any thoughts or comments welcome.
thanks in advance.
janine

HI i had a quick look at the company they dont seem to be offering anything you could not do yourself. how much time you have will decide if its worth it. if you stay as long as you can (self catering gives you more of a feel).
We hope too move to paphos district end 2008 .We have a apartment in paphos for holidays& let out cyprusnancy My hubby has a advice and property web site New Home in Cyprus - independent property agent (mostly in paphos but they also work in limassol) i know its not limassol but it gives you an idea of help you would get from a company.when buying at no extra cost. Good reputable agents will help you with these items as long as you take time to talk to them, my husband seems to spend more time arranging people to be moved in get electricand water on pointing out schools doctors hospitals etc pm me if we can help Tricia

Hi Janine,
There are some great schools in Limassol and l'm sure your husband will see that. My advice to you is to rent first before you buy and get a feel for the place. We have lived in Limassol and Famagusta area and we have finally settle outside of Larnaca. When you husband visits he can find out info here and alo buy the Cyprus weekly full of ads and info that you will find interesting.
Good Luck CJ
