Default Medical Care in Cyprus

Hello,

My family and I are seriously considering a permanent move to Cyprus.

I have 2 small children and my wife has epilepsy, can anyone who currently lives in Cyprus please give me an idea of the type of medical care we could get in Cyprus? My wife needs daily medication, would we be able to get it in Cyprus, and is it expensive?

I would also be interested to know if the international schools are good in Cyprus.

Any other helpful information about moving to Cyprus with a family would be greatfully received.

Many Thanks,

Andrew.

Hi Bob,
Definately South Cyprus, probably Limassol or Paphos. My In-laws would be moving with us too and they want to live in Paphos, but we haven't quite decided which of the 2 yet. The location and availability of an International school will probably decide where we live.

Andrew.

Default Drugs in Cyprus

Hi Andrew
If you aren't covered by medical insurance, drugs are bought from the chemist at commercial prices. Long-established generic drugs are quite cheap but the latest ones can be expensive. If you email me with the name of your wife's drug, I'll gladly ask the local chemist how much it is.
All the best
David

Thank you very much David. I can't find your email address so I'll post a reply here instead.
The drugs we'd need to buy are Lamotrigine 200mg + 50mg, pregabalin 25mg, co-codamol 30/500mg.
If we could get the price of these I would be very grateful indeed, thank you for your help.
