A solicitor's letter like this is a defensive reaction in a country which is still backward in providing customer service. Instead of diplomatically dealing with a problem they are aggressively trying to silence your friends. As such it has nothing to do with freedom of speech.

In any case there is no such thing as 100% freedom of speech, if there were there would be no libel cases.

Also I believe there is a law over here that makes insulting someone publicly illegal, thus that guy was arrested for calling the President an idiot. Which in this case makes telling the truth illegal!

Pete
