Default Moving to Cyprus around mid September!

Hi guys,

I am new here and would like to make some new friends that I can get some tips in
cost of living in Cyprus. I am from Thailand and have never been to any European countries before, except yet America. The climate won't be that different in Summer time as we have summer all year round in Thailand. Also I will be settle down in Limassol. Hope to meet new people here.

Thanks and Cheers!

I think you will find it very expensive in comparison to Thailand and the US. I presume you are coming for a job that is already in place?

Yes, I secured the job and am on visa processing. I have done some homeworks on cost of living, good prices, etc and I get the sense of things will be pricey, compared to my little pay which I will get in Cyprus. I am worried that I will not be able to save up if I have to spend all my money on daily stuffs. In US, you have target and discounted stored and shops so that i can save up a lot, given my little pay as well.
I would not been to Macy if I want things reasonable.

My question is that I don't know if it is worth going to Cyprus regardless experience, if I have to pay such a high price on daily basis. Things like water seems to be expensive. For example, in Thailand, I don't have to pay for that and in U.S, I pay very cheap and get clean big bottle of water from Target, saying 1$.

I am not sure whether Cyprus, still have it charm?

It depends what your salary actually is and how you live - if you have dependents, smoke, like to go out etc.

Drinking water will not be your concern expense wise - more likely electricity, petrol, car or motorbike insurance if you want your own transport, services in the home like internet & phone, rent and groceries.

I'm sure if you tell us what your monthly wage is a lot of people will chime in if they think you can live on it (and save) or not.

As for charm, Cyprus still has it but without enough money it is hard to appreciate it...like everywhere.
