Default Removal Company ... on the ball?

Just received an email from a well-known removal company, recommended on this board, with the following:

"Quote Excludes: Crating of any fragile items, Destination port/terminal charges, Customs duties and taxes, demurrage, storage
wharfage at CYP£ 6.50 per electrical on used electrical white goods and home entertainment equipment"

Is it me or has Cyprus joined the EU and its currency has been the Euro for some time?

It looks like whoever responded copied and pasted the response from a very old document or the website possibly. More attention to detail is definitely needed!

It doesn't look as though they can be recommended any more.

They certainly need to get their act together
Apart from the fact that Cyprus has the Euro, there is no charge for used electrical items.

Just to avoid confusion, as I mentioned Burke Brothers in another thread, this was Robinsons' response.

Award Winning UK & International Removals

What a potential minefield. As we will be in Cyprus, and our goods will be in the UK until we find the right long term rental, we must have confidence in the removal company's attention to detail. As a long time "slot racer" (don't ask), I was put in touch with a racer from the Isle of Man who owns a holiday home in Peyia. He has very generously allowed us to base ourselves in his house until we find the right location and the right rental.

So the right company is even more important.

And another thing that you find is when people do "recommend a fantastic service etc etc etc " its usually friends of ailing businesses trying to drum business for their friends or family giving the thumbs up, I always take these referrals with a pinch of salt !!!!!

I would personally call a few and see who is most professional by phone and follows through with correct info/timely manner etc. I had a bad experience with the most popular removal company in Paphos, but everyone else raves about them! To each his own....I found my own that I was happy with after calling several. Many never followed through or like you mentioned just gave wrong info.

A real minefield I agree. We are planning to visit our preferred choice again next week to double check. Many thanks for all your input.
