Default Storage costs

Hi, we ha ve finally set the date for our move to Paphos, 31st October!!! The question now is, when we ship our belongings to Cyprus, we shall be living in temporary (short let) furnished until we find what we are looking for. We shall have to store our container for a while when it arrives in Limassol, how much will this cost us per month? Also, can we have access to the container during the time we are waiting, would love to know what the drill is on this subject. We are a retired couple, so I believe we do not have to pay any import tax on our stuff??
Would be really grateful for any information here.

When we came over MK were the people that Burke used here. They were very eager for us to get the furniture transported to our house and were trying to bounce us into things we didn't want to do so that they could speed things up.

We did pay around a 100 euros in customs duties to import our furniture, I think that it was a backhander to stop them making mischief.

Thanx Pam n Dave, yes I received a quote from them today, quite expensive, around 100 euro a month for a 20 cm. container, or is it, I have no idea. We are pensioners so I thought we do not pay import duty on our belongings?? I cannot see what alternative we have though, as we are renting and have to find the place first, so feeling rather confused now.

You SHOULD NOT have to pay any import duty on personal belongings.

And you should not have to pay excise duty on vehicles imported from the EU but it happens.
