Just found this forum - seems to have masses of info too

Well, the wife and I are just starting to look into emmigrating to Canada. It is something we have thought about for a few years now and have decided to take the plunge!

I have a specific quesiton though that i hope someone can help with....

First off, i am sorry if this question has already been posted. With such a vast forum it's difficult to pin any previous posts down

I recently - 3 years ago - had to be fitted with an ICD (internal cardiovascular defibrulator) ; it's like a pacemaker. It doesn't affect my health in anyway and has been put in as more of a precaution. Had a complication a couple of years ago and picked up an infection in the hospital which lead to heart surgery to clean out the infection. again everything is fine and health is perhaps even better than it was before.

Will this have a large, negative impact on success of immigration?

I am not sure but you could try contacting a Doctor in your country that is certified to do the health checks for people moving to canada and getting there opinion. They may be able to understand the implications of an ICD better towards emmigration rules than someone else. hope that helps.

um.. i am not sure at the moment. possibley off the Cic website. but i can't be sure. As i am not sure where you are from i cant really look for you to give you a link sorry.
