I would like to add to the questions asked.

My husband I are in NZ at the moment, having lived here for 4 and 6 years now. We both have NZ working experience in Accounting and Finance.
We do like NZ, however it seems to be a bit too small place for us and we would like to explore a little while we are young and can do that.

We are in the middle of deciding now of wether it's worth to try find some new experience in Canada. We got attracted to Toronto.

The main concern for me are the living costs. Would anyone please suggest what are the renting rates like, say for 1 or 2 bedroom apartment or unit not too far from the city? What good web pages are there to search for property to rent?

How is the public transport like there? Do you need to own a car to travel around city, or can you actually rely on the transport? (We don't rely on public transport much in Auckland).

Also, would be good to get an idea of how much is an average spending for food for a family of two?

Thanks a lot for your replies to my enourmous questions...

Hello, the cost of living is very resonable, transporation is great if you live in downtown Toronto or if you live in the suburbs,,we have great bus lines, subway stations and trains. I suggest you google the Toronto Star and look at the classified section. If you want to also look at the areas around google the Mississauga News and look at the ads there. Rent really depends on the area but honestly it is really quite reasonable compared to other cities.

Please email me if you have any other questions.

Default Milton is great

I moved here to the Toronto area 16 years ago when I married my wife. We have lived in Mississauga and Brampton but moved here to Milton last summer. We LOVE Milton - it really does have all you are looking for and quite friendlier than other cities next to Toronto. I am now a dual citizen of the us and canada and plan on living out my life here. Milton has made that decision easier.

Thankyou all so much for your helpful responses. Does anyone know if Computer technician jobs are hard to come by in Mississauga? This would be an ideal profession for my husband as he has been working in this field for several years now. I am quite flexible and would be happy working in a pet store, or as an Online Support Agent, as I am very computer savvy, and have experience in a customer support role. Are there many job openings in these fields? Cheers.

Hi, there are several large companies in Mississauga such as the head office of Microsoft, Loblaws, Biovail, Dupont Canada, so really finding a job is not difficult.
