Hey everyone,

I am a currently finishing my degree from the University of Alberta- Augustana Campus in Canada. My B.Sc. will be in environmental science (I am taking a couple of summer courses due to suffering from mononucleosis in my first semester ). (all my 4th year courses are completed- 4th yr gpa = 3.9/4.0)

Basically, I really, really want to get out of Canada and explore new landscapes while completing work in the environmental field (renewable resources, oil/gas, impact assessment, etc).

I have 1 year of experience completing upstream oil/gas reclamation/remediation and ~6 months experience completing environmental impact assessment reports for large scale projects (road construction, pipelines, etc).

If anyone could help me out with any suggestions regarding where to begin looking for jobs, I would really appreciate it. I've applied for jobs with several companies overseas but haven't had any luck. Currently, I am completing contract work in Alberta; my contract is up at the end of September, with the option to join the company as a full-time employee, but I really want to explore other countries while bettering myself and gaining new/exciting knowledge and skills.

Any ideas?

Thanks for any insight, I really do appreciate it.

-SB

Hi SB

If you are finishing your degree, I'm assuming you're in your early 20s which means you'll be able to qualify for a working holiday visa with one of the Commonwealth countries. Have you done any investigation in that?

Australia is a big exporter with oil and gas, you might be able to look there as an option? Some of the big guns are Rio Tinto and BHP.

Best wishes with your search.

Regards,
Nessie
