Default Work Permit advice

Can anyone tell please.
If i go through a labour market opinion and i'm successfully on getting a work permit through a company, do i have to stay with that company?
What happens if i want to leave that company?

Hi,

Yes, you will have to stay with the company, as LMO and Work Permit (WP) are linked.

I've read that if you leave the company, then you could remain in country until your WP expires, hence you "might" have some time to find the love of your life or another sponsor.

Are you under 35? then look into this: Travel and Work Abroad | Temporary Work Visa For Travel and Work in Canada for Foreign Students and Youth | International Experience Canada

If you wish to work elsewhere while on a TWP you must find a company with an available LMO to hire you.

At the minute i have the 1 year international experience canada visa. I have a job offer and I am due to move to Canada in Oct.
I just thinking for down the line after my 1 year is up, I get a work permit through the company and discover i want to work for someone else.
So it is possiable to move to a new company and get your work permit changed to your new employer?
Do you know how much time you have to change over?

Thanks for the reply

No

You have maybe misunderstood what those above have said. It is NOT possible to get your work permit changed over to the new company. What would have to happen is the new company would have to apply for a new LMO on your behalf and only when this is issued could you then apply for your work permit and begin working for the new company

Mike

Hi,

Short answer: yes!

FYI: LMO waiting time is around 14 - 16 weeks
