Default Police certificates

Hi all

I am currently living in Canada on a one year working holiday visa, I am applying for residency at the moment. I am from England but I also spent a year in Australia on a one year working holiday. I believe that I have to get a police certificate from Australia but I am confused by what exactly I need to get. I lived in Queensland and VIctoria for around 3-4 months each,do I need police certificates for both of these regions and do I also need traffic clearance certificates.

Any help on this situation at all would be very much appreciated.

Isn't there a kind of coordinating service in Australie? A federal judicial system? I know in my home country, you need to address the Department of Justice (and not your local police authorities).
You need a statement that says that you don't have convictions on your name while you were staying in that country.

The Australian one is easy to get--especially if you go to one of the professional "finger printing" companies in Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, etc. They'll give you the form and take your prints for you.

I had them do all mine--Canadian, Aussie, American--and they did the Canadian one electronically so it came back in about 2 weeks. Aussie will take about a month if you send it Express Post.

What city are you in?

Ok great,thanks very much.

One more problem I am having is I think I need to provide traffic reports for the time I spent in Victoria and Queensland, the problem is that I did not have a driving licence while there and you have to provide evidence of not having a licence while there but it does not tell you how to get this evidence in the government website.I spent three months working in each state.

Traffic reports? For migration? Are you sure?

That would the the RTA in New South Wales; Vic and Queensland much have a similar body. Google "driving licence" and Melbourne and Brisbane.

How the hell are yuo supposed to provide evidence of NOT having a driving license How very bizarre!

Do you mind me asking how you got on the PR track? I'm off next month on an IEC visa, hoping I'll like it out there and will want to prolong my stay - I'm thinking via a job sponsorship... Also, how you finding Vancouver, did you live in any other states (sorry to drag your thread off track)

If you didn't have a licence wouldn't the date on you licence show that (valid from) or your test pass certificate or the DVLA perhaps? Are you sure you need it anyway....
