Visa advise please

Was born in Canada, Vancouver in 1981 and was adopted a at birth, i was brought to the UK by my mother and got dual nationality, I have a Canadian birth certificate and have maintained my dual so I can get a Canadian passport if I wish

I am now engaged to my American boyfriend and currently trawling through all the visa stuff.

If I were to get my Canadian passport, would the visa process be any different or easier?

Does the fact I have the dual make the visa process different?
