Default college/university fees in Alberta

Hi hoping to move to Calgary this summer and moving with teenagers,so was wondering if anyone has any idea about costs involved,I understand that fees will vary depending on course, but just a rough idea.I know in the USA they start to save when the child is born is it the same for Canadians

Yes, it is. :-(
Of course, tuition isn't the only cost. Your kid might need an extra car, or go in residence. That's a couple of thousands a year extra. They need books, pocketmoney,...
As an example: my sons is going to university on Ontario in September. His tuition is only $8,825.74. But with the cost of residence, meal plan, books, mobile learning fee, ancillary fee, student organisation fee and so on, the cost is about $22,000. That is without transportation cost or pocket money.

To give you an idea about Alberta, take a look here:
Sample Fall/Winter Assessments for Canadian Students - Office of the Registrar - University of Alberta
The good news is that their tuition is already $6,000 less than at my sons university in Ontario. ;-)
But google a couple of universities in Alberta, and add 'budget calculator' in the string. That will give you an idea.
Cheapest province to study is Quebec.

I assume you're talking about university fees and yes many Canadians begin to think about their children's university fees as soon as their born. There are loans, grants and scholarships available to many students thereby reducing the funds required.
