Ok I'm confused we were prepared to have my husbands close friend and manager to co-sponsor for my spouse visa but now I have people saying that it HAS to be a family member is this correct?? Help! If she can't help us then we can't get this visa!

No it doesn't have to be but any sponsor has to write a formal letter of offer, and enclose their bank statements as proof of affordability.

Ah phew what a relief yes she's written a statement of consent and provided 6 months worth of bank statements and payslips as well thank goodness
