Red face Employment for marriage visa before entering uk

Hi,

My Visa consultant from marriage visa help . com has advised me it would be a good idea to have work lined up or have emails or correspondence with potential employers in the the uk showing i have interviews booked for when i get there, to proove to the UKBA that i will be working in the UK. However i have applied for 50 or more jobs and not surprisingly havent heard back from anyone. Im finding it pretty doubtful that im going to be able to get a job lined up or have an interview booked for my visa.

Has anyone here applied for their marriage visa recently without having work lined up or having that correspondence, and still had the visa approved?

Id also like to know if anyone knows of any good recruitment agencies that would actually assist someone line up future interviews before entering the country? Im an Australian and have a strong background in administration/call centre/retail environments. And im looking for work in London or just outside of London.

Or do you have any advice at all that could assist me? This is the only part of the visa application thats stressing me out.

Thanks in advance!

Lauren =)

I think what's important is that your partner can prove they can support you as a dependent until you find work. I haven't had any first-hand experience though, so hopefully someone else can give advice on that.

As for the recruitment agencies, you might want to check Jobs UK - Engineering Jobs UK, Town Planning Employment UK, Construction Jobs UK as they can help you find the right kind of recruitment agency for the job you want. They have lots of info about immigrating in general as well.

Best of Luck!

I didn't have a job lined up and I was approved. They're not really concerned with your potential moneymaking as long as your sponsor makes enough to support you both. The only reason(s) I could think that you haven't been contacted is because A) You don't have the right to work here yet B) Your cv may be in the wrong form or C) they just don't have anything. I've heard that the job market here is very dire at the moment and there's people who have been applying for jobs and not getting anything for over six months. Those are just my opinions. :-)
