Lost in web world..

Hi all,
Please help me with a queer problem i have with an internet account.

I had an email account with AOL,was a paid one until this january.When we moved out of uk, i cancelled their internet services i made sure we could continue to use the free mail account.Which was fine from Jan end to 2 days ago.When we could not get access our account.When we try password retrieval also, the sign name does not exist.We tried creating an account with the same sign name but it says it has already been taken.

I would be grateful for your input.All our moving files,various correspondence is all there and i am very worried and losing sleep.I could not contact anyone in UK.The numbers ihad for AOl are not reachable anymore.Indian AOL says cant help we will try.
please tell me if this can be fixed?
what else can i do?

My experience with AOL was not great. Their software tries to take over your computer. I heard many people who had problems when trying to cancel.

In retrospect maybe moving away from them altogether would have been a good idea.

Cant you contact them on the internet and ask?

Hi,Thanks so much.
On the web site,no numbers.All the numbers i had whilst in Uk i have tried from India.None getting connected.
Aol in India is my only chance to get some contact info.

I will keep trying!!

Thankyou so much.I went through this.A new address we could create.Using the same screen name-it does not allow it.
I am trying to get hold of the numbers in Uk-no trace anywhere.It feels very desolate-..many thanks for writing!

The only AOL number I have is the following: 0844 499 5555 , it comes with all their letters for broadband and phone plans.

I am very grateful to you.The no:behaved!!although these lines drag on with various options,after 10or so mins i could speak to a person and she kindly unlocked us!!But am wary now!!But thankfully we have it running now!!

Hi Jlms!

It was indeed a timely help.I contacted many friends over in UK and i was truly worried.
This just shows how helpful these forums are and how every action can mean so much to someone in trouble.
To me this was a shock and very distressing and you took out time to write and it means a great big deal.
