Smile Moving to the uk from south africa.

I in the process applying for the HSMP visa

I am an ACCA(association of chartered and certfied accountants) I would like to know what my chances of securing a well paying accounting job are and the realistic time frame I should expect to wait before getting a job.

What are the start up costs like.

What are child care costs like the range.

Hi Tina and welcome to the forum.

Such open-ended questions - you really do need to give some more specific details i.e. children ages, type of accommodation and where you plan on living etc.

Looking for a job really depends on your experience and of course how you deal with interviews. Obviously jobs in London have higher salaries, but then the cost of living is much higher also.

Please give us some more information.

Regards

Michelle

Hi Tina, and welcome to the forum.

Based on my own experience, accountancy is a pretty reasonable field to assure your employability just about anywhere in the world. I'm not familiar with the ACCA, though a quick google shows that it is an internationally recognized organization. Finding a job in the UK will depend on how well you market yourself, and how you can present your experience to be an advantage.

I'm in France these days, so can't really help much with the question of start-up costs or child care, but as a fellow accountant, I can tell you that you should be able to find a reasonable job.
Cheers,
Bev
