Question Visa Help

I am looking for some advice regarding Visas for the UK. I am looking for advice regarding visas for my boyfriend. I am British, but this is something I know nothing about!

I am a UK citizen and my boyfriend (from the UAE) is looking to move to the UK to be with me. I looked into bringing him to the UK on an unmarried partner visa, but don't think I have enough evidence of us living together out here.

What options do I have with regards to getting him a visa? Will we be able to apply at the British Embassy over here?
Thanks in advance - all your help is much appreciated.

Default Get married!

I am Mexican, my wife is not even British but EU national.

When we moved here it helped enormously that we were married. They allowed me in initially as a dependant person and then it took a while to process my application to be recognized as an EEA familiy member (which is what allowed me to wrok as I wished).

Keep in mind that the current government is intent on tightening immigration requirements in order to please the rabid xenophobic that read the Daily Mail and other such fine publications. It may very well be thatat in one year's time it is more difficult for him to come over. A marriage certificate would be extremely helpful.
