I'm assuming you are calling from an ordinary landline (BT etc), not mobile phone or payphone.
Then there are currently two providers that offer a rate of 4p a min to call Australian mobile.
PhoneCheap! Stop wasting money on international calls
http://www.dialwise.co.uk/
You first dial an access number, and then the full Australian number including country prefix.

i did call the number just to chk but i got charged 40p a min

its says there its 4p a min i dnt know how it works

plz help

Are you calling from a mobile? Then 40p a min is about right. But from a BT landline, it shouldn't cost more than 4p per min, plus set-up fee of 9p.
