Post Does my son need his own visa application?

I am a US citizen and so is my 2 year old son. My son has his own US passport. We are moving to the UK in March for my job. My job has already secured a 60 month work permit for me and now I am in the process of VAF2 "Application for UK Entry Clearance". I filed one for myself and paid the $420 fee but I don't know if I need to fill out a separate one for my son? Anyone have insight into this? Thanks!

Yes, I do believe your son, as your dependent, will need a visa. This page right here should answer most of your questions. Good luck with the move!

hi izzyzmum04. Any chance you could clue me in on what council tax is? we are going to be renting a flat in Horsham and I don't know if this tax will apply to us. Not sure what the different "Bands" are either.

Council tax is basically a tax on domestic property. It will just depend whether you will have to pay or not. My advice would be for you to check with the person you are renting the flat from. Find out whether they will be responsible for paying it, or if you will be. Your council tax will be based on how much the property you are renting is worth (the valuation of it), thus the different bands. I would definitely get in contact with the owner and find out who has the responsibility first. Once you find that out, you can work from there. Good luck with everything!
