Default HSMP visa advice

Hi I am new to this forum and am looking for some advice.
We are from South Africa and my husband qualifies to apply for the HSMP visa. We are afraid we may miss something with our documentation and the application is refused. Therefore we are thinking of using an immigration agency. However, there are so many of them out there and we would like to know if anyone has used an agency that they can recommend? Any other advice on obtaining the HSMP would also be appreciated.

Many thanks!

Hi Suki

I am also a South African and have just had my HSMP application approved. I strongly suggest using an agency - we used Live Abroad (Lisa was the consultant who worked with us) and they were absolutley fantastic! They will do everything from your application right throught to helping you arrange a UK bank account etc... They were super friendly, efficient and had a whole bunch of helpful tips when it came to what doc's to include.

Their service obviously comes at a cost, but I really felt it was worth it.

Let me know if you have any other questions that I can help with.

Hi There

Congratulations to you! Thanks for your input but we have already committed ourselves to "1st Contact" who were recommended to us by some other South Africans. 1st Contact has an office in London and also here in Cape Town which makes communication a whole lot easier. They also charged us a Rand rate for their services. (UK home affairs application fees etc. still in pounds though) Anyway we have just started getting our documentation together and hopefully we can get the application off soon.

By the way, how long did it take from sending in your application to getting your approval? Good luck with your EC application and with preparations for your move to the UK!

If you are a professional earning above a certain salary and have a masters degree you may be eligible. Go to the UK Home Office website, they have a points calculator there so you can see if you score enough points.
