Default Tier 1 visa

I was wondering if anyone has applied for this visa from Canada, or any other country outside the UK.

I'm curious to know if they have to keep your passport until they issue the visa? or do they issue the visa then put it in your passport when you pick it up?

I want to apply for the tier 1 this summer, but i'm also going to be traveling to the states quite a bit so I need my passport.

Just google Tier 1 visa and you'll find out everything you need to know. It's how you can immigrate to the UK - three year visa where you can work anywhere you want.

I applied and got Tier 1 while in the US. Applied online, sent supporting docs and passport to the consulate 3/23 and got passport with visa back 3 days later. All information on how to apply you can find on UK Border agency web site.

Hope this helps!

You will first need to fill in all your details online and then book an appointment for biometrics. You will have to take a print out of the online form and either post it or submit it in person to the UK embassy. The UK Tier 1 visa program is simple and straight forward. You do not need a consultant for this. You can go through the resources at tier1visashop . com
