Default potentially moving to Aberdeen

I am working for a big oil and gas company and I have been oferred to move to Aberdeen for 70K Pounds with Car allowance of 6K.
I have no Idea what would be the tax deduction, I wonder somebody in this Forum can give me an estimate of tax deduction for this salary.
Also appreciate if somebody can help me with some information of living expense(rent, transportation, entertainment,....), hints about the quality of life style with this earning is highly appreciated.
My wife is an architect and she is looking to follow her career in Aberdeen any information regarding this business would be extremly helpful to us.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

There are a number of threads here relating to Aberdeen. Most seem to conclude that it's a fairly expensive place to live, but I would imagine 70K GBP would offer a livable life style.

However, you need to check what sort of visa you'd be going over there with. Normally, a work visa related to a specific job like that will permit you to bring your spouse and children, but the "trailing spouse" is usually not allowed to work. Unless you're coming from within the EU or have EU nationality, you may want to look into that aspect of the move.
Cheers,
Bev
