Default Young couple looking for good area in London to rent

Hi

We have moved to London a couple of months ago and need to find somewhere to live by end of August before our temp accommodation expires

Our budget is approx 2000 GBP/month

We are in our mid 20s and I work in the City (near St Paul's/Bank Stations)

Main criteria is an easy commute, and a lively area where we can go out/meet other young people.

Any suggestions appreciated

Cheers

Where are you living now?

For an easy commute, I would suggest staying along the Central Line. Your budget is ok. Shoreditch/Spitalfields is young, hip and a little edgy and a quick walk or bus ride from Liverpool Street. There are lots of clubs and with that comes some unsightly morning after stuff. Also try Shepherd's Bush and Ealing.

At the moment staying at a serviced apartment in the city, not far from St Pauls.

We were thinking maybe Bayswater or Notting Hill area, what are your thoughts on that?

Cheers

Both are nice, desirable areas. Notting Hill is probably a little more lively and it is also a little more expensive, but being that they are both in Central London they are both pricey areas. It depends on what you expect to get for your budget. You'll be able to get a 1 bedroom pretty easily on your budget in either area.
