Default Proof of Communication

My husband and I are getting our supporting documents together to be able to send off to New York. I have a few questions about proving our means of communication.

First, background info….We have known each other for 3 ½ years but started our relationship 2 ½ years ago. We communicate all day long, every day, mostly on private messages on facebook and we skype depending on our schedules that day and the time difference. We email sometimes and we’ve sent cards to one another. And if we really need each other urgently we will telephone one another.

My questions…..
1. I was thinking about sending a “Representative Sample of our Private Facebook Messages” since the beginning, 3 ½ years ago. Is this ok? I was going to do this by using Screenshots and pasting them into word documents
- Also what if there is a private message (naughty message) that I would rather not have anyone read… can I use a black marker to hind it. (give a girl a break! I miss my husband! )

2. Sending Screenshots of our emails….we have over a 100 so I didn’t think it was necessary to send actually emails. The screenshots show the dates on each email. (again did screenshots and pasted them into word documents)

3. Do I need to send actually cards that I have received from Andy? How would I copy them?

4. Thinking about doing the same thing with skype…screenshots. Only problem I can only go back the past 6 months on that….not sure why? And again…the private messages are on there as well…can I use a black marker to hind that?

5. Thinking about sending telephone bill. Good idea? Is it ok if I cant find every bill going all the way back to the beginning of the relationship?

All are excellent. A representative sample is all you need, and you don't need the 'naughty bits' to prove you have a relationship, so you can spare yourselves and the ECO a red face by not including those.

We only sent 12 screen captures of our Skype chats. A couple of those showed just how many hours per day each day we spent on video chat. Like you, we also enclosed a screenshot of the total number (not content) of emails. We didn't enclose any cards but did enclose 4 photos showing we'd met. This worked for us. We only had one telephone bill showing international calls because we chatted full time via Skype messaging and video chat.

We didn't include facebook messages. I sent our Skype Call log for the last 6 months and also our mobile phone bills as we had international tariffs (before the good old iphone of course!).

We included a handful of cards we'd sent each other but also cards from family and friends. Remember that you will get these back so don't worry about sending sentimental cards because they will be returned.

xx
