Default EEC Visa

Folks

We've completed the application online, but the receipt email has asked for several things that the UKBA site has never mentioned, nor have I seen mentioned here.

They are:

* your old passport or a copy of it
* evidence of funds available to you, in the form of detailed bank statements covering at least the last three months
* evidence of your sponsors accommodation in the UK, for example mortgage or tenancy documents, etc.
* Flight reservation/itinerary showing your intended datesinto and out of the United Kingdom. Do not purchase your ticket before the visa is issued

The old passport was lost and this was explained in the notes. I assume we can ignore?
Do we include just her funds (the visa applicant) or mine also (the EEC resident)?
Finally - how do you include a flight reservation without actually booking a ticket? I was not aware this is actually possible.

It is just confusingly worded. Look up some possible flight itineraries around the date you hope to travel and print them out.

Thanks nyclon. Can you (or anyone else) shed any light on the other items?

I'm starting to think the email is a generic one that lists everything one might be asked to provide, and for the EEA Family Permit, I don't need to provide these things. Can anyone confirm?

+ I actually had 2 of my old passports, I would say maybe see if they have any on record though if you can. Maybe call where you sent them in? There's always a chance I guess. But as long as you have your current one and it's valid, I don't think it should be a problem.

+ Itinerary - I basically booked a flight but didn't pay for it. I printed out the last possible page I could before paying xD

+ Bank Statements - I'd just check with your bank. I think it's easier if you have an online account to have that info, but your bank should have copies.

+ For Sponsor's Accomodation - I included their Council Tax Statement thing I think it was and just wrote a note detailing what was in the house (how many rooms, who else lived there... so on.)

+ I didn't include a family permit... Don't really even know what that is. I did include a note from the family I'm staying with that said, hey, she can live here!

Hope this helps. ^^"

You include both. They need to know that you, the EU citizen, have enough money to support her. Here is a link to the UKBA guidance on supporting documents for the EEA Family Permit:

I would explain again that old passports have been lost.

He's not looking to include a family permit. He's applying for an EEA Family Permit which is different from a spouse visa.

Thanks both for your replies! Immensely helpful.

One of the items on the UKBA PDF says: "Evidence of your current employment or studies". Does this strictly relate to those who have already found work or should she (the applicant) include details of her current employment in the US (which she will leave to move over)?

Also, for my (the sponsor) "information about your finances and employment", would six months of payslips suffice? I use a few different bank accounts, and I am the collector/payer of bills in my current house of six people, so six months of bank statements would take weeks to decipher, and I've seen a few people (yourself included) mention that only payslips were sent.

Finally: My partner is selling her car and a piano to fund her on arriving, should we just include this detail as a note with the application?

Most of these applications are one size fits all. You can also apply for an EEA Family Permit to just visit an EU family member in which case you would probably have a job or school to return to and they would want to know that. She can state her current employment status and that she will be leaving the job when she moves.

You should send provide bank statements.

Unless and until she has the cash in hand for the sale of these items, no, it's irrelevant.
