How long has it been since you posted the packet of documents?

Was there a tracking number on the receipt for sending the packet? Who was the carrier?

Usually scanned documents (pdf?) print exactly like the originals-but the ink won't smear as on an original, nor will it have the watermark of the original.

We have had a poster recently who scanned his bank statements and possibly some other documents as well, emailed them to his American (I think) fiancee who then printed them and they got the visa. However...

Hopefully Joppa will post in on this. In a situation like this I think you need the very best information and not confusing/incorrect advice. Try to stay calm, and if Joppa doesn't post in soon, bump the thread to get his attention. (It's Saturday, and Joppa may well be enjoying a much deserved break)

Meantime, focus on the missing packet-if you can track it or get the carrier to track it, you may find it is on the delivery truck, or delayed due to weather.

We had a similar experience with Royal Mail's Airsure service (the leaflet also boasted 5 days though the counter staff did look a little dubious about it when I checked and stated 'FROM 5 days...' (it actually took between 10-12 days). If you used Airsure too, their tracking is broken (the staff know it but it seems beyond anyone's wit to be able to fix it). Airsure's service lands into the recipient country's main postal service but retains its Airsure tracking number.

If you have one, try entering your tracking number into Pakistan mailing service sites to see if anyone has the parcel (here for example: EMTTS - Express Mail Track & Trace System).

Will the biometrics service in Pakistan allow a rescheduling of the appointment? If so, and your plans can allow for it, this might be worthwhile (do check the guidance accompanying your visa application in case there is any requirement to go for biometrics within a certain time frame). Given a bigger space, the original parcel might turn up and you will also have some time in which to obtain original replacements for mailing with another service maybe.

Try to keep calm, Uzi. I know that's not easy right now, but try. We'll keep bumping the thread so it's the first thing Joppa sees when he comes in.

Sorry to hear about the lost documents, you still have time before the new immigration law implemented in the 9th.

Collect the original documents and send them again with the fasted couriers possible.

Do not send copies, they will never be accepted, many people on this form had visa rejected because they included print-outs of bank statements rather than original.

Good luck

Print out of bank statement with bank stamp may have chance i don know
I am struck with another thought....will ukba reject the application or will they ask for originals as if they ask we can provide when ECO opens the file( it takes around 1 month in pakistan to get the app to the ECO) so if he opens and see oh these docs are not original and with out note saying we lost the post and we wanted to apply before the new rules then will he ask for the originals coz if he does we l provide but if he rejects that means no appeal ( in appeal we can give the original docs and win ?cant we?)

Have you actually paid for the visa application yet? If so, THAT is your application date and you'll be considered under the pre july 9th rules, even if your biometrics appointment is later.

@2farapart In pakistan you pay for your application on the same day you submit your documents and biometrics and that is your date of application. Everything is handled by UKBA service partner Gerrys in Pakistan like worldbridge in US or other countries......

Oh, that's a shame.

Hopefully Joppa can give some insight into what can be done. I was furious with the Airsure service (a total let-down compared to their promises). I wish you the very best of luck and I hope your packet arrives before your appointment. It still has a chance.
