Default spouse visa application question

Hi all! I'm new to this forum.
Quick question (though I'm sure I'll return with more later)....

I'm going to be starting the application process some time within the next week or so, and I'm wondering if there is anywhere on the internet for me to see the application itself, without having to actually start the application. I believe you can only keep and save your application for 7 days. I'd like to know what I'm dealing with, and start getting my documents together to get a better understanding of what is needed.

Thanks for all of your help!

you should be able to print the application form from the UKBA website.
My wife this last week so that we could also see what was needed and do draft filling of the form. We are in Australia.
My wife tells me that the actual online application form with the 7 day expiry was actually a little different tot he printed version - not sure why...!!

I asked my wife and she said that there were subtle differences - nothing major.
We found printing it out first and actually hand filling it in allowed us to have everything ready and all in place which just needed transferring to the online form - rather than opening the online form then trying to find all relevant answers / documents whilst sat in front of the computer

Hi;
The application you need for spouse visa is VAF4A , could be downloaded from the Homeoffice website or just search for it on google.

The online application only expires if you totally ignore it for 7 days. If you revisit it and click the save button, then the 7-day counter restarts from that point. We kept the online application alive for a good 2-3 weeks before completing all of it.

I did mine in April 2011-at that time I had 30 days to access the online application from starting date, but that I couldn't make any changes once I hit submit.

I love how they change things, lol!

Sorry for being stupid and utterly dense (could be the effects of the MSG in the Chinese food that I had for lunch just now), but does this mean that I could start the application TODAY and then save and work on it again next weekend and then save my work and then do a final going over on July 1st and then hit "SEND" when Ed and I feel prepared to do so?

I'm inclined to think yes, but want to make sure.

LOL! No, it's still the same. AFTER submitting, you have 30 days - but there's a misconception that the form only saves your data for 7 days whilst you still completing it. Well, it's not exactly a misconception because if you do abandon the form for 7 days, it is indeed lost, but if you keep popping back and making a few changes, the 7-day-timer resets to the last time the form was saved. Once submitted, the form can then be viewed (not changed) for the next 30 days. This is to give you time to wail about "why did I say THAT?!"

As long as you click SAVE at some point within each 7-day duration, yes. The second you click SAVE, your 7 days starts again from that point.
