Moving a Rabbit to the UK

Is it possible to move a pet rabbit to the UK with us without it having to go through quarantine? We're moving from the U.S. and can't imagine a rabbit doing well in quarantine for 4 months or more.

Don't know about the quarantine, but rabbits are 'nervy' creatures and I can't imagine one surviving all the stress of the plane ride.

Can't you find it a good home?

We perhaps could find her a good home but we've had her a long time and would like to keep her if possible. Also she hasn't done too great with others in the past when we just went on short trips. Our hope was to have her fly in the plane cabin with us to hopefully make it easier on her but we can't put her through quarantine.

Rabbits fly like a dream. My son raised/showed rabbits when he was young. We used to fly all over the country to attend the National Convention each year. We've flown west coast to east coast with as many as 50 rabbits/cavies in cargo.

People in the show rabbit hobby fly animals back and forth between the US/UK all the time.

Sorry I don't know the regulations, I never looked into it. Best bet is to put the rabbit into a small wire cage (they like to be contained tightly, they travel better and you don't have the same space requirements as for cats/dogs). Then for complete security, place the wire cage inside of a plastic shipping kennel for dogs, you can use the smallest the wire cage will fit into. The rabbit likes it darkened, so the plastic kennel works well.

You can find the proper wire cage by searching "single hole rabbit exhibition cage" or something along those lines. They also sell water bottles that attach safely on the inside of the cage.

And no, I wasn't bringing 50 carriers ;) we used eight hole carriers, stacked three high inside a large dog kennel. In those days, each carrier only cost $50 each way as excess baggage of course, that's a domestic flight.
