Default How do we find out who our Application is coming along?

My wife filled out her application, had biometrics done and posted her Application and supporting documents to New York. She has not had any notification email-wise, and was wondering how do we find out what the state of play is? From them receiving the portfolio, on average how long does it take to process and say if settlement visa has been successful?

Thanks

Did you use USPS overnight-if yes, you should have a tracking number to check the progress of the packet to the consulate.

Once the consulate has it, it may take a couple-three days to get a confirmation of receipt and organisation to join the queue for an Entry Clearance Officer (ECO) to process the app.

Don't forget-weekends and holidays don't count towards processing timeline counts. Tomorrow is a bank holiday here in the UK, and may affect the staffing at the NYC consulate.

ETA: As of 23rd April, the projected timeline is 9 days for standard, 48 hrs if $300 priority processing was chosen.

In addition to what AAIS said, aside from tracking whether it got there if you used USPS or other service which provides tracking, there is no way to follow the progress of your application and you may or may not receive an email informing you it has arrived or been issued.
