Post Is there any change expected in July 2012 for Visa 175

hello

Is there any major change expected in July 2012 for Visa 175. I have read somewhere that expression of Interest would be required while applying.

Will that impact timeline?

Will that impact my application if I start right now(fresh start).

Shall I apply now , I have not prepared even a single document yet.

Kindly suggest.

Thank You

If ur date of application is before july 2012 then there is no impact on timeline as the EOI skill select select would nt b applicable for you.

If you are planning to submit after july 2012 then u can only submit expression of interest and you need to wait for d invite letter from DIAC to file the PR. For more info on skill select search this forum in d last two days discussed threads. You will get detailed info.

Good Luck.

welcome to the forum..
there's a HUGE change...Literally

You have 6 months to apply for 175 visa and its definitely a tough ask but its possible. since you dont want state spons.; hence you can save a few weeks..
IELTS and Skills assessment are the only two hinderance between you and ozzieland..

Its advisable to apply now if you can qualify..

Thanks for replying so quickly.

That's where I am confused. I have not yet started preparing a single document and I need 8 bands in every section in IELTS in order to clear the cut-off points.

On top of that , I did my graduation in Elect. & Comm. branch and applying for Software Engineer.I have 3.4 years of experience.

What should I do now?

How much time will it take to prepare the documents for ACS?

Please help.

If you qualify for a visa under the current rules, I would advise you to lodge your application now. Bear in mind that in the few weeks before any rule change, immigration typically freezes the current application process and do not accept new applications to enable them to make a smooth transition to the new system, so really speaking you only have a few months to get all your paperwork together and lodge an application.

Worse case scenario is that the new system may affect the priority of your application. It may be delayed or fast tracked depending on the priority assigned to it by immigration but the outcome of it will however be decided against the current criteria and rules.

There is no guarantee that you will even qualify under the new system and ultimately, if you are unable to get a letter of invitation to lodge an application from immigration, them your dream of living in Oz will end there and then.

My advice is to book your IELTS test now and put in whatever effort, hours, classes, etc that is required for you to get the score that you need. In parallel, make sure you apply for your skills assessment and collect all the reference letters, etc that you need. Once you have the IELTS test result and your positive skills assessment, you can then go ahead and lodge your application.

Based on experience, I would say that it takes about 1 - 3 months to collect all the documentary evidence that you need to make a valid application. If you start now, you have a realistic chance to lodging your application before any rule changes.

You being in the IT field will have to get assessment from ACS and AFAIK they dont ask for IELTS (I am not sure..other members on this forum will know better). But if this is true then you can do the assessment and prep. for IELTS simultaneously.
8 in every band is tough but not impossible.

IELTS is not required for ACS assessment.

like the others said, July 2012 changes will be massive. Australia is following into Canada & New Zealand footsteps, where they want to limit and suppress the flow of immigration.

If you can qualify now go for it, don't delay, IELTS 8 all bands possible, but you have to study very hard (depending on your language ability)

I think 2011 will be last year for accessible australian immigration, just like 2007 was the last accessible year for Canada (till the major changes implemented on feb 2008), since then Canada making it even more difficult to immigrate.

Default Freezing applications?

Hi,

It looks like I'll have exactly 12 months work experience as a mechanical engineer in Perth on the 27th of June 2012!

I have two questions,

Do I need to have 12 months experience before I submit the application for a 175?
Is there any way I could I submit my application in may 2012?

And, if applications are frozen before I have my 12 months work experience and get my application in, will I be stuck having to apply through next years rules?

I have the ielts done and I'll have 70 points. Im just worried that I'll get stuck with next years rules.

Hi,

I have positive skill assessment and IELTS overall band 6 and 6.5 (second attempt). But my constraint is that I need 7 in each band for Victoria SS since my occupation (262112-ICT-Security Specialist) is in demand. I would like to know that if still I apply today (in order to avoid 1 July impact on my application) for State Sponsorship would it be beneficial even I don't have required IELTS scores.

Looking forward to hear from you soon.

Thanks
Jogi
