Default state sponsership

may seem a bit green here but has anyone gone for the state sponsership visa ? Looking at queensland as an option under construction project manager. Is it a viable option?

question : - I have only been with my current employeer for 7 months, will this stop me from getting visa?

Cheers

Daz,

I did the state sponsorship option as a Construction Project Manager in WA. Had my visa granted a couple of months ago. The option is restricted to the state that sponsors you for 2 years but you get a permanant residency visa. I was ok as wanted to move to Perth.
For me I have been doing the job for many years but you may struggle with experience. They expect you to have been doing the job for at least 2 years in the last four (i think).

I did my aplication through an agent and they were very helpful initially advising the best option to go for. Contact one and ask for soem advice initially it would be free.

Hope this helps, let me know if you need more info.

Hi Gaz

Cheers for the info. Although i've only been with my current employer for 7mths, i've been doing the job for 4yrs so hopefully i'll be ok. I'm currently searching for a good agent to use but have been told that there are quite a few dodgy ones around. Who did you go through and would you recommend them?

cheers mate

Daz,

The agent I used was the Visa Centre. I did their cheapest option which involved them sending me the info and me completing the forms. They then checked them and I then posted them. The cost was about 2000 GBP but you then need to add the VETASS costs, and the DIAC costs. All in I paid about 3500-4000 GBP

They were good if a bit slow to respond to emails sometimes. One of the problems is they handle everything from NZ so there a huge time difference which delays immediate replies.

I did not however have any problems and I got my visa.

Their contact number in London is 0207 348 6089.

Hope this helps, let me know if you need anymore info.
