Hello everybody,

I got my 176 PR visa sponsored by (South Australia) in 2009. I validated my visa on November 2009 just visit in Perth only for 2 days and back. Now my plane is I will go to Australia permanently next on January 2012. One of my friends from Sydney wants me to go Sydney instead of Adelaide. He told me if I even not go to Adelaide there will be no problem. But I am confused as my visa is 176 and it is sponsored by SA.

Can anyone please let me know what kind of problem I have to face in the future If I not go to SA.

Thanks
Tazrian

I guess you must be knowing that you need to inform the state which has sponsored you on your arrival to Australia...In your case what do you mean by "go to sydney instead of adelaide?"...if it is only for a few days/weeks then i guess it will be fine but if you go to Sydney on a permanent basis then you are in a tight spot..
your 176 visa was granted on your acceptance of staying in SA for 2 years, rite? then why do you want to play around with DIAC by not going to the intended state?

if you are planning to just visit your friend / relative in Sydney for couple of weeks / months ... it is fine. But ideally , you should start searching for job in SA after this. If after 3-5 months if you do not get job in SA then you may request state to release you.As of now, they genereally release if they find you are moving for valid reasons. If you move without informing state then in future you may face problems getting your PR. Legal action for this is unlikely as of now. But you never know.

I hope above information helps you.
Thanks,
A
