Default Help Please,, I'm sooo confused

Hi all, 1st time poster here with some questions..

I'll give you our details 1st...

We are a young(ish) family - I am 39(40 sep 2012) Partner 31(32 aug 2012) daughter is 2(3 jul 2012)

All UK Born

I am a highly experienced (18 Years), although not very qualified IT Systems/Network Support Manager, partner is BA Hons degree educated (Multimedia Design) and would like to teach (Art)

We would like to move as soon as we possibly can as we would like our daughter to have a start from scratch education in Australia and feel it is a "Now or Not for a very long time" situation..

I have spoken to a few different so-called Migration "Specialists", but I seem to just be getting recommended to do the things that make THEM the most money, not the things that would be more beneficial to us.

We would like to know if it is better and quicker for us to try and get company sponsorship, we are not bothered about being "Tied Down" like a lot of people on here seem to be, as once we are wherever we end up, we intend to be settled there at least until the end of our daughters schooling,

If not company sponsorship, what would be the best route for us to take, and what are the rough timescales for other routes..

some of these "specialists" are looking at total costs of around £5-6000 and that seemed a little excessive to me, or am I wrong...

Many Thanks in Advance for you Help..

Rich, Anne & Marli

Depending on what visa they'd be applying for, how many people were on the visa etc 5000 to 7000 would be an average price to pay. Given you have little qualifications you're options may be limited to visa which involve more work ie needing state sponsorship etc ie tying you down!

Company sponsorship is very hard to find, especially if you don't have many quals and are not already in Australia. There are plenty of qualified workers already in Australia they can hire who they do not have to pay out to sponsor and wait for them to start because of visas.

Look on here and see if you even qualify for a visa Professionals and other Skilled Migrants - Workers - Visas & Immigration you can apply yourself you dont have to use an agent. Many people use agents because they dont have the time, energy or confidence to do it themselves. Agents also know the ins and outs of the law that we do not.

Where would your partner want to teach? Unless they have a teaching degree they wont be able to teach in schools or colleges in Australia. Uni's might employ them but they would most often want post grad degrees, but not always if the industry experience is great.

Hi, I think you need to spend some more time reading about what visa options are available to you - before you have any qualification for passing judgement on migration agents..

£5000-£6000 seems perfectly reasonable for a PR visa handled by an agent (if it includes the visa application fee).

As _shel has already pointed out company sponsorship is likely to prove difficult for you, as most companies would only look overseas for candidates as an absolute last resort.

You also have to consider that with company sponsorship if you lose your job you have 28 days to find another job (with a company elligble to sponsor you) otherwise you are expected to leave Australia. This situation does not change until you qualify and apply for another visa that gives you PR.

Which leads you to the situation you are in, if you apply for PR from the start your visa application will be more expensive and will take longer. But at the end of the process you are free to live and work in Australia.

Your call....

getting an Employer Sponsorship visa might be a little bit difficult . you can try for independent skilled visas. though you dont have too many qualifications to boast about but your work experience is enviable (to say the least)....you can claim the full points (i believe around 20) just for your experience...

Just to add..., on a company's sponsorship visa you will have no benefits. Meaning you have to pay for your daughter's schooling more than the PR or citizens of Australia.

Best option is to check for yourself at the DIAC website of what options you could identify for your family to move, this way you can talk better to the agents as well. From my point of view, the best in your circumstances can be a 176 or 175 application.

Hi ,
As you wanted to go as soon as possible then better you get State sponsor ship.
as it has high priority.

see following link read also links which are pasted above. Agent cost is too much.
if it is just their fees.. In India it just cost 800 $.
