Career Move...Scared...Help!

Hi Guys,

My boyfriend and I are having plans to migrate in Australia.
Would greatly appreciate your help if you could enlighten me on the following so we could assess where we should settle..for GOOD :

Best place to live in Australia considering...
WEATHER: I don't want too much cold or hot weather. If possible, just in the middle. I came from an Asian country (Philippines to be exact) and the weather here is more on the HOT side coz it never snowed in here How about typhoons, earthquake, tsunamis,..is Oz having a lot of those?

JOBS: I am an industrial engineering graduate and is currently working as a BUYER (manufacturing). My boyfriend who is an information management graduate is currenltly working as a CALL CENTER AGENT (customer sales representative). Considering these info, do you think we should look for a place in the city? since we would like to save our energy from travelling to work.

HOUSING: Is housing in Oz expensive? For a couple like us planning/working on buying a house with 1 garage, 3 bedrooms and a garden! ..how much do you think it will cost? But...yes...if we cannot afford this kind of housing for the meantime, might as well rent one

SALARY: Safest salary per month should we aim for (gross amount since we do not have any idea which are the taxables in Oz) since we will be leaving our families behind (Phils.) and we would like to provide financial assistance to them as well.

I know these are very basic but with all the threads i have been reading, my mind is having difficulty to digest all the information.

Have you checked out the "PLEASE READ...." sticky post towards the top of the forum? That has most of the links to the info that you are looking for. Jobs, housing, weather and more can all be found in that post

Weather - It's hotter up north than down south. I've never heard of typhoons, earthquakes or tsunamis here but it can get a bit windy on the NE coasts.
