Default Keeping income cycle alive.

Hi... i wanted to know a thing that ofcourse no one can answer but some suggestion
the main worry issues is that ... After coming to australia and getting work permit etc... what are the chances of job. I mean i would have some extra fund not more then 1 or 2 months. but in between if there is no job available what would be the income resource.

Would i be allowed to do some other job or Job like part time. or some other job other then my concern field.

and what would be the inccome source anyway. ofcourse no one can guarantees the job. but what would be the alternative ways to keep income cycle live.
Regards

Hi there,

If you are not in the workforce already, jobs are hard to come by. It is much easier to find work if you are already in a job. Also, why would you be coming to Australia without a job?
Surely, you need employment here to get a work permit? Also, 1 or 2 months funds will not allow you into the country without a job, you would be stopped at immigration.

Default So whats the advice

which rule comes first.
I need to find a job first or need to migrate before.
Actullay i m applying for the work visa in australia. i have sent my documents to ACS and i m working in Software development having rounded 4 year of exp.
I just wanted to know that in job searching they ask for work visa. and this thing comes first that i need to get my self migrated under the work visa programme.

So in keeping thins thing in mind after migration. what are chances that i would get job n good one and what would alternativies and would i b allow to work some other job that is not of my field i mean part time so that i could run monthly expenses untill i get the good job.

What u say.

Just have some savings to tie you over until you have a job... If you came on a skilled migration visa, finding work should not be difficult.

If you are going on Independent PR visa, in all probability you will have to find a job once you reach, and you start working after you get the PNR number, (was it pnr or.. i dont remember, sorry if i spelt it wrong ) in that case you can work part time too, but incase youa re going on a sponsored visa, you can not work in a field other than the one you are going on.
And anyways you will have to go with a 2-3 month backup talking monies . so be prepared. From what I have heard, form friends, they were able to work within 15-25 days post arriving, and in those 15-25 days the expenditure can be anything between 2000-3000A$. Depending on where you stay etc.

Most of us don't come here with a job since sponsorship can be difficult. We had permanent residency and no job but that wasn't an issue for us.

Hi UsmanArshad1

As Anj says it really depends on your visa.

Which visa have you applied for? Is it a skilled independent visa? If so once your visa is granted and you can start looking for work. Most job websites won't even consider you unless you have a visa that allows you to work here.

For us we had already set up multiple streams of income before we moved country so that we knew we had some money coming in. If you don't have that take a look at the links in the "PLEASE READ...." post for jobs and areas to give up an idea of areas where you'll find jobs and rental and sales prices for property in those areas. Also there is the "Cost of Living" thread which gives you an idea about costs in different areas. That will give you an idea of what sort of money you need to bring with you to cover you for a few months if you don't get a job immediately.

Regards,
Karen

Hi...
You told about the multiple streams of income. Can u elaborate them in detail what may be thoes and how you setup them before coming in aus. I have seen the threats u told but there is no such ways to setup income streams other then some useful links. However i also wanted to know that Is it legal that untill or unless i could not find a job written on SOL or MODL for me i do some another job may be part time so that i dont get out of cash.

regards

Hi UsmanArshad1,

When I said multiple streams of income I was talking about things such as share trading, property investment, network marketing etc. and this isn't the place to discuss them (check out my signature for more details) but all of those depend on your current financial status and your current level of knowledge. I'm not suggesting that people just go out and buy any property and hope it will make a return or do the same with shares for that matter. You have to educate yourself financially. However there are ways of making money that do not rely on jobs and yes they are legal.

You didn't mention your visa type that you have applied for? Or haven't you applied yet?
If you are coming over on a skilled migrant independent visa with permanent residency then you can do any job that you want to that brings in money. You can do full time or part time and it doesn't have to be the skill set that related to your visa.

If you get a employer sponsored visa then the visa comes with a job. You get into Oz quicker but they often can take a while to find unless your skill set is in demand.

There is a link in the "PLEASE READ...." post to the different visa types.

Regards,
Karen

Default Thanks for Your time

I have sent my documents to the ACS Ausstralian Computer Socity. just now.
and i m applying for skill worker migration visa (permanent)
Actually i wanted to make sure that if there is any clause that tells that you might work in only a field for what you got the VISA. I mean if my skill set is computer then no matter i cant change my job or do another one while i dont get job in my field.

So i think its clear by your reply that there is not legal clause. Because i was taking is as common sense that Skill migrant is not allowed to work in other job field for which he/she did not get visa for.

I knew there are some jobs that demand the license. however its clear now and hope for best.

will be intact
Regards
Usman
