I got spousal PR, subclass 100 (Ithink).

Really worth doing all the donkey work yourself and not paying out for an agent... alot of work but in total only a few hours....

The biggest shopping centre closest to Mentone is Southland Shopping Centre. (about 5 km's down the road on Nepean Highway)
Its a large centre and has some great shops (and movie theatres)

Mentone is also about 10km down Warrigal Road from Chadstone Shopping Centre which is the biggest shopping centre in the entire world LOL (well, maybe not, but it's still huge)

Contact preferred school now anyway, that way the school knows you are interested, and perhaps see whether you can tour the school when you arrive. (I believe Kilbreda do tours on the 1st Thurs of every month- during school terms)

The public/state schools will run for 2009

28th Jan - 3rd April (term 1)
20th April - 26th June (term 2 )
13th July - 18th Sept (term 3)
5th Oct - 18th Dec.

Some schools will take a booking early, others you will need to wait until Nov/Dec.

Private school terms will be slightly different, so Kilbreda may have slightly different dates.

All I know about Kilbreda is that it is a girls Catholic school (my sister worked across the road, and my brother lived around the corner from it)

I live in Oakleigh, about 8 km due north of Mentone. We go to Mentone fairly often when weather permits to let the dog play on the off-leash areas of the beach There are houses down there that I would love to own, but that's a pipe dream LOL

unfortunately i have 3 dogs that need to be rehomed, i have good homes for 2, but spending all day everyday trying to get a good family for the other one.

we dont plan on staying in Oz forever just a few years so we didnt think it would be sensible to take dogs with us...

there are going to be alot of tears shed before we go.

is the weather still brutal in melbourne??

yeah, if we weren't here indefinitely, Silver would've stayed with my parents. It's a shame that you have to rehome them though and don't have someone to look after them for you

Yes, the weather does still kind of suck here in Melbourne, but the sun is coming back out. Getting down to 6-9 at night and reaching 15-ish during the day.
