Question Pregnancy /457 visa

Hi as some of you may already know we are going to Brisbane on a 457 visa, we already have two children and have been considering having another. The thing is i have to have a c section, does anyone no where i stand with this one on the old medicare thing or would i have to take out more insurance to cover this, or go private.

Hi Suzyt,

Have you checked the Medicare website (there is a link in the "PLEASE READ..." post)?

I would have said that you would need extra insurance since Medicare seems to cover just the basics but I could be wrong. Have you tried looking at some private health insurances to see what they cover?

Regards,
Karen

hello if you are eligable for medicare then you will be covered for public care and delivery and it wont matter what way the baby is born, plus if you are from England or Ireland you will be covered by a Reciprocal Health Care Agreement
