457/ Residency

Hi could you just clear this one up for me , we are going to Brisbane on a 457 visa and after two years would like to apply for our residency, now do we have to leave the country for a period of time for this process. As iam thinking of my husbands job and how it could effect this, i only ask as my husbands book of i know everything dosent no this one . Many thanks Suzy

Hi SuzyT,

If you check out the visa website (a link is in the "PLEASE READ...." post) it says how you can apply while in Oz.

There is also another thread (which is active at the moment) called "When 457 expires" and that has some of the information about what to do when the 457 expires and when (and how) you can apply for a visa...
