Default Migration Agent Help

Hi,
So we have decided australia is the place for us and researched the requirements we seem to match them,
what is the best to start the process?
Is an agent the best way?
can someone recommend an agent?
and feedback would be much appreciated!
thanks

hey jamie..
well we are in the same boat i guess. we have also decided to finally take a move. writing a CDR for hubby's skills assessment now.
First thing is to check whether u get enough points on the new points test. u can check it online on the immi site.
then u have to give IELTS and get ur skills assessed. the new requirement of IELTS score is quite high.
what is ur profession?
we were also thinking about hiring an agent but i've read enough on this forum to know that all this work is possible if you want to do it yourself. just read the booklets and the rules and ask all the questions u have here.. agents can be expensive..

Hi guys I'm about two years a head of where u r now! We went with an agent! (asa migration in perth), I would recommend you use one if u can afford it! They do help a great deal! We are doing a 176 state sponsorship visa to south Australia. It has taken almost two years from first contact! It's cost us with the agent about £4000 and we are just at the medical stage! Hope it all goes well guys gaz

You would get your skills assessed here Trades Recognition Australia - Home

We used George Lombard - he's excellent Welcome to Austimmigration | George Lombard Consultancy Pty. Ltd.

I would insist doing the visa processing all by yourself.

I have a big NO for migration agents, there are loads of them with high promises but very few deliver, and how you find those few is mystrey.

and getting wrong one can not only loose your money but delay your processing.

Best thing would be sit back, give little time to your research, Vist DIAC website, talk to people in forums. people here in forum are collectively far better than any migration agents.

So, in my personal view, reseach and applying all by yourself is good.

All the best.

We used an agent and wouldn't be here without them (since other agents said we couldn't get in and we would have made mistakes).

It's depends on your age (we didn't have time for mistakes) and how easy your case is.

Our agent was Emigration Group and if you do a search you'll find other agents recommended by other members.

Cheers,
Karen
