Hi Vickey

I am moving to Perth, WA in first week of next month. I was wondering if you can share your experience so far in Perth. I mean how about the living expenses, food expenses, mobile phone expense, internet. The most important hows the Job market? Is it easy to get a job or one should have a australian experience to get a job?

Perth is expensive. Mobile expense is based on your usage. I find mine to be in the region of around 25 aud but I am a light user. Internet bundles depending on ISP can range from 35 to 110 aud. I am on an unlimited plan with phone bundled which costs me 80 aud
Job market depends on the occupation. In some occupations they are rigid about local experience in others not so much. So you can call up consultants and speak with them to get an idea

Hi Anji,

I hear that, its good to get a health insurance (for a single person), though one has a medicare card. Please let me know what are the things to consider here and which health insurance companies are good to go with ? Do the corporates (employers) in general offer health insurance for the employees and their family members (at-least spouse and kids) in Australia ? I know most corporates do back in India. Not sure about this place here. Also require to register for ambulance in NSW. Any suggestions / tips please ? Please elaborate your thoughts.

Cheers.

4 weeks if rental is 300 or less but 06 weeks if its more than 300 a week. Atleast this is the case in SA. Not sure about the other states though.

Warm Regards,

DS

DS, this is news to me, we gave one month rent as bond and one month as advance (well we were asked for one month but we gave 3 month as a security to the landlord), and our rent then was 330 per week.

deepsea, no it is not a norm for companies to offer insurance for family and the employee unless you work for an insurance company, then too they give you a discount, it is not absolutely paid for
