Red face Moving to brisbane from Manchester, England

Hiya,
I`m very new to this website and came accross it on a search engine. I`m very impressed with all the threads. The things to do lists from Dolly are brill!!
I was wondering if anyone has any useful info about settling in Brisbane. My husband is an Aircraft Engineer and we have full residency visa`s and are hoping to be in Brisbane in the New Year. He`ll probably be based at the airport with his job and therefore we`d like to settle not too far from there but obviously not as close that we have loads of aircraft noise. Can anyone recommend any suburbs, schools etc that I can look into?
Gosh it`s scary sorting everything out but I can`t wait. I have 2 children age 10 & 8 who are excited too
Cheers!

Hi there Cheryl,

Welcome to the forum.

There are quite a few people here looking to move to Brisbane...I'm sure they can pass on some useful info.

If you haven't already found it, here's a good school website The Queensland Education System

Also the BCL website Brisbane Schools and Education in Brisbane Queensland Australia gives you details of independent schools, state schools, TAFEs etc

Dolly

Hi Cheryl D,
Not sure if you recieved privious post, so thought would send this one again, we are located South side, Redlandshire on the Bayside. We are 20 minutes drive to airport and easy access to CBD, Gold Coast and other places of interest. There are some excellent schools in the area private and State:- Ormiston College, Redlands College (Private) Wellington Point State School, Cleveland (State) and many more. There are other points of interest on our web page which you can access at www.auspitality.com.au Hope this helps, good luck with everything
