Default Where in Perth ??

I am still very much a newbie to this forum. I am in the processing of applying for a visa and was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of where in perth is nice to live in.

I would be moving, assuming all goes well with the visa application, with my wife and 2 small kids to perth. No 2 is due in a couple of weeks and our first child is 2.

I have been looking at some of the property website and some of the prices seem insane ?? I would be looking to work in the CBD.

We were thinking that Quinns rock would be nice but i have heard that the commute can be 2 hours ????

Any help would be great !!

Everywhere in the city is commutable to the city. I reckon with the longest being about just over an Hour. Look on the map for a place called two rocks....hell people are even commuting from there.

We live very close to Quinns rocks and can drive into the CBD in 35 mins although I can imagine that being slighlty longer in busier times! The train goes from Clarkson which is just up the road and takes about half hour if i recall correctly. Nice area too :-) x

Cheers for that - still working through the paper work. My wife is an australian citizen and we have filled for my sons citizenship. Hoping to get my form off very soon - fingers crossed that it all goes ok.

Really want to make the move - but being an accountant I have loads of spreadsheets on the go

Hi Boriswa,

Your situation is very similar to ours. We are currently waiting for the 457 Visa to be approved, but I am told it will come through within the next two weeks.

We are a family of 4, myself, my wife and 2 daughters. The oldest being 2 (3 in August) and the second was born in March this year.

I have looked at rentals in Duncraig, Scarborough, Doubleview (close to the beach), and further away Ellenbrook, Aveley. Not sure how the commute would be from these places. We will be looking around once we arrive (this should hopefully be around July).

When do you think you will be going to Perth, purhaps I could send you some information after we arrived?

Regards

Pieter

Ellenbrook is at least 50mins probably 1 hour plus if you include peak hour traffic.
