Question family of 3 moving to sydney

We r a family of 3 moving to sydney in 2 months on 457 visa. My spouse has got a job there for 80k. Will the salary be able to take care of the monthly expenses to live and education of a 4 yr old. How easy or difficult is it for me to get a job there once we move. I have exp in the ERP domain. Please advise.

Hi - on $80K you'll need to pick your suburb carefully to make sure you don't pay too much on rental accomodation. On a 457 visa you will need to pay for schooling - preschool costs are between $45 and $70 per day, most children attend part-time (2 - 3 days a week). Once your 4 year old is eligible to start school (they start at the end of January if they are 5 or turn 5before 31st July that year) you will need to pay for state primary education: around $4,000 per year.
We're a family of four and grocery shopping is between $200 - $300 per week. You certainly won't have many luxuries on $80K but if you can support yourselves until you find employment, I'm sure you'll be able to make the move work.

Good luck!

Thank you shussel for giving those valuable inputs.

We realise that the money will just be able to fulfill and we will not be able to save much initially. But still decided to take the risk. How is toongabbie to live in? any idea if there r any indian stores around that area as we will be moving there. My son will turn 5 march next yr, so i guess he will be eligible for kindergarten for the next academic session. Do you know of any preschools in that area which are not charge too high on fees? Please do let me know.

Thanks again

Toongabbie is a reasonably large suburb, has good and not so good areas. I don't know of any indian stores in the area but most supermarkets have a range of indian foods.
