Smile East Perth???

Hey there guys!

My partner and I will be moving to Perth in May from the UK, providing our 457 visa arrives in time! (Our flights are booked for May 3rd and we're still waiting, oops!!)

We are both young professionals (ME 27 O/H 35)
We have been looking at river front apartments in East Perth on recommendation from O/H's new boss, they all look lovely which is great and are in our budget of approx $700 a week.
However I am struggling to find much information/opinion on East Perth as a suburb/area.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! x

Hi good luck with East Perth you have made a very good choice. Everything you need is pretty much right there, and its right by the river and quite a popular up market place to live. I am sure that you will be happy living there

Thanks for your help!
It looks like a lovely area and O/H is very excited about living near the WACA!!
Think i have been convincing myself that there is something wrong with it as it all seems so perfect!! I do find it strange that it doesn't get mentioned very often and places like northbridge do!?

Are you from Perth originally?

Yes I have lived in Perth for many years so I know the city well. Northbridge is the nightlife area and it does get a bad rap now and again, although I have never had a problem. I guess its like anywhere, if you go looking for trouble then you can usually find it. There are so many apartment options in the city as well, however I would be happy with East Perth, once again good luck
