Unhappy visa

Can anyone tell me if it is true that if you are over 45 years old you cannot move to australia.
I have a trade in plumbing and i am corgie registered.
would this trade help with the visa request of the age ????

Hi Pippin,

The age depends on the visa - if you check out the "PLEASE READ..." or "Thinking of emigrating" posts they have links to the visa types on the gov website, and also a list of required skills so you can see if plumber is on there.

For us we wanted to come in as skilled independent migrants and it meant applying before we were 40 not because of an age restriction but because there is a points test and we wouldn't have enough points to get in after 40!

Regards,
Karen

Hi Pippin,

Because your a qualified plumber there is an option. Plumber is on the Australian MODL (migration occupation in demand list). Therefore you can still migrate here BUT you have to do it with a sponsor. That is you need a company to sponsor you as a plumber. The 2 visa categories here are: 457 sponsorship, which is temporary OR an ENS sponsorship, which is permanent.

Good luck!
