Well, this afternoon we start our journey to Oz. I'm acutley aware of how quick this has been for us compared to the other people on this forum. But hang in there.
We are doing Edinburgh London, London Bangkok, Bangkok Sydney - all on BA. So lets hope the baggage gods are good to us. After all I did pay £60 for one additional case - misers.
When I land and get orientated will update the sticky threads about costs etc. Certainly we know already that rental prices are crazy - but I guess foreward is forearmed. There isn't much you can't find the price off with a bit of googling.
Well, off now to take the last bits out of the house before the council tax come to inspect it as empty so we can get our 6 months free whilst the house sale ties up.

An ambitious travel, nowadays, when fuel and air fare is so expensive.

Not really when you consider other alternatives to get to Australia - like 6 weeks on a boat

I know it's a long way but it's really worth it!

We're here! And we have brought the weather...its pouring down and forecast to be the wettest weekend of the year! how lucky.
The appartment my work has sorted out for us short term is great - we have a view of darling harbour..how lucky.
Just done a shop at Coles and quite suprised at how expensive it was - will be hunting down some cheaper places soon I think. Will put a full post up when gathered some more prices.
I start work on Monday - but at least I can walk there - for now.
All our cases arrived and customs was a breeze - they didn't check our stuff or anything. I just declared my t-bags and they told us to carry on. Loverly...
